Welcome to Child Friendly Warwickshire
Everyone has their part to play – and many are already playing it. We all have our role in making this county truly the most child friendly it can be, and together we can achieve so much more.
Child Friendly Warwickshire is an exciting programme to bring the county together in a collective effort to ensure our children and young people have a voice that is heard, that they are safe, happy and healthy and equipped with the skills to lead the best lives they can.
It’s about celebrating all the positive things already happening - as well as promoting and encouraging more activities and projects that benefit children and young people.
Warwickshire is a county full of opportunity. It is where growing up is full of fun, safe and healthy experiences, and the chance to make memories which set our children and young people on course to fulfil their dreams.
Everyone has their part to play – and many are already playing it. We all have our role in making this county truly the most child friendly it can be, and together we can achieve so much more. If you share our values, why not become a friend? You might be working for a business, a charity or other third sector organisation, or simply be someone who wants to help make a difference to children and young people in Warwickshire.
By becoming a friend, you are committed to putting children and young people at the heart of all you do. Alongside other friends, you will be the face of Child Friendly Warwickshire, setting inspiring examples and showcasing your child friendly efforts which make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. Find out how to get involved with this here: https://www.childfriendlywarwickshire.co.uk/our-friends
Child Friendly Warwickshire is committed to listening to the voices of young people, ensuring they have impact and influence in shaping our county. At the beginning of this journey, we heard the ideas of young people of all ages from around the county. They told us what child friendly means to them which helped us to develop our five goals for children and young people. These are:
- Be heard - have a voice to shape where they live
- Be safe - have secure, safe and stable lives
- Be healthy - have access to the health services they need
- Be skilled - have the opportunity to enjoy the learning they need, leading to the achievements and employment they want
- Be happy – enjoy access to activities and entertainment with safe, secure, green and clean areas in which to play.
By understanding what young people need to flourish, and working together, we can shape our county in a way that leads to better outcomes for the youngsters of Warwickshire and create a Child Friendly Warwickshire.
We’d be really interested to hear your ideas too and updates about anything you’ve been doing at childfriendly@warwickshire.gov.uk
