Calling all young people with SEND
Young people aged 12-25 years with a Special Educational Need and/or Disability, and their parents and carers, are invited to come along to this special event to find out more about the Local Offer.
Are you the parent or carer of a young person aged 12-25 years with a special educational need and/or disability? Or do you know someone in this age group with SEND?
We'd like to hear from as many young people as possible to understand what matters most to them and learn how we can improve our online Local Offer.
For those who may be unfamiliar with the Local Offer, it is the information that we provide for families about the services and support available across education, health and social care for children and young people aged 0-25 with SEND.
This event will address the need identified in the Written Statement of Action to improve the online Local Offer, and will be an opportunity to talk to young people about participation and how they can help to shape the Local Offer in Warwickshire. There will be a chance for young people to feedback directly to Council officers on what matters most to them and how they want to be supported to live a happy, healthy and independent life. Parents and carers are also welcome to attend to support the young person and also to provide their feedback.
The event has been organised by Warwickshire County Council and will be run by KIDS, the impartial information and advice service for children and young people from birth to 25 years of age with SEND, and their families. It has been funded by the Department for Education's Making Participation Work project.
Date and time: Tuesday 30 August 2022, 10am to 3pm
Venue: St Paul's Church, Leamington Spa, CV32 4TE
