Multi Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT)
A decisive, multi-agency system where practitioners have the expertise, experience, time and support to identify actual or likely significant harm quickly and accurately and take rapid and effective protective action, whether the harm is inside or outside the home. Where work and interventions are meaningful and practice feels clear and compassionate for children, their parents and their family networks.
Aims:
- Multi-agency working: Key child protection agencies work together in a fully integrated way and information sharing is improved so that practitioners have a clear and accurate picture of whether a child is at risk of harm
- Social work expertise: Those responding to significant harm have the high level of skill and knowledge
- Parental engagement: Child protection effectively engages families when there are concerns
